Going to Mangalore over the weekend. Leaving tomorrow night and getting back on Tuesday morning. A friend and colleague is getting married there on Sunday. Not in Mangalore, but in Kundapur actually. We got tickets only until Mangalore, so we get down there and then take a local bus to Kundapur. We dont have accomadation too, so major backpacking for us.
Hope we get some half-decent hotel in Kundapur on arrival. Plan to do some roaming around on Saturday and Monday before getting back to Bangalore. Nothing is decided yet on the agenda front and barring the 2 of us who are going from here, we dont know who else will be meeting us in Mangalore and where to roam around.
Lets see how things go.
I need a smaller camera for such occassions. I went to Salem(Thiruchengode actually) 2 days back and I didnt carry my camera as it was too bulky. I need a compact camera with a decent zoom that I can just put in my pocket and walk around and take it wherever I go. Carrying around this current huge bulky camera is such a pain and the worst part is that it occupies half the space in my bag.

I felt exactly the same need this time while travelling..I got a Canon Powershot SD 800 IS as my second camera. completely suits the purpose, pocket sized, good for taking pictures on the run and in low light..i chose this because it also has wide angle, but it has no view finder
Hey,
Sorry, saw ur post now.
I could have given u some pointers for some good places which u could have visited..
Anyways, how was ur trip & what all places did u happen to visit..
I agree for the camera part.. I was strongly adviced to by an
SLR cam b4 coming back frm US, but I knew that for the level of photography I do – a smaller, sleaker, reasonably priced one suits the best..
Wishing a Happy Married life to ur newly wed friends..
