…over this since the past few days. A friend is coming over from US. Been thinking if I should ask him to get me one of those Cowon A2s. I seriously want one of those but everytime I stop myself thinking, do I really need it. Gotta separate my needs from my wants. Damn that little device!!!

Very nice, reflective post Vidhya. Freedom is not “absolute” freedom that leads to anarchy…but freedom with responsibility. People take years to work this out, I am glad you did it pretty early!
>>>> sense of freedom is lost.
I do not agree with the term freedom in this context. Its just that u have to compromise suddenly to toooo many changes.
During child hood… we are never bothered about the term freedom…didnt have the ability to think what a freedom is.. we just believed/agreed to what our parents said & what teachers said..then the only concern was when i can play..if not allowed..then cry..
It is only when u grow u up start having ur own opinion…by then u have soo many responsibilities..u start think about others ppl in the society… probably only little… thats the first compromise we make…
That is fine.. thats a small change…but after marriage u have to consider other persons more seriously.. and adjust to the same frequency as ur partner, his family, his frnds… u have to consider some persons (whom u have not known for till now )as your own…
But you will compromise..or probably enjoy more… as time goes… its just the initial stage ther will some discomfort..
“freedom lost” is not the correct term in this context..to be free or not be free is dependent on individual..
I think i have written too much… donno if i can understand when i read this again…..

berry simbull… you of course would have heard of the iPod. This is something like that. Only, it is classified as a PMP/PVP (Personal Media/Video Player). i.e It has a big screen (starting from 4″ and might be widescreen), so it not only plays mp3 like a regular mp3 player, but also can play videos and photos. So when you are travelling (say on a plane) then you can keep your collection of movies that you want to watch on the plane and watch it on this device.
Of course there are devices with larger screen like 7″ but then its not entirely pocketable.
This little thing is also great in the way that it can even record from DVD or TV thru its AV-In. So that way you can store your fav TV programs for later watching too. Cool stuff if you ask me.
and how much it costs, and where gettable? am looking for Christmas gift for aathukaar…
I looked for it on pricegrabber and jetmall. there are two versions 20gb and 30gb. 30gig costs between $293 – $350, 20gig version is little cheaper I dink.
It looks really cool:-)
